The Home Worx Office 95 impressed in Stiftung Warentest’s major office chair test (2/2024) with a “Good” rating (2.5), securing the title of “test winner”. Its well-thought-out ergonomics and high-quality workmanship make it a popular choice for many. Nevertheless, it is important to stress that everyone has individual needs and preferences. What is the perfect chair for one person can cause back pain for someone else. That is why it is well worth taking a close look at the features of the Höffner Home Worx Office 95 office chair and considering possible alternatives as well.
What made the Home Worx Office 95 the test winner in February 2024 (2.5)
In Stiftung Warentest’s major office chair test in February 2024, the office chairs tested were unfortunately only partly convincing overall. The Home Worx Office 95 achieved an overall score of 2.5 and was crowned the winner. In terms of safety, the chair was rated “very good”, due in part to its stability, gas lift and rolling resistance. It was also positively noted that the Höffner Home Worx Office 95 was classified as low in harmful substances. Although the chair performed well in most areas, both seating comfort and ease of use were rated only “satisfactory”. Stiftung Warentest also identified weaknesses in the upholstery. With a price of around €399 (as of 2/25), it falls within the mid-price segment.
What features does the Home Worx Office 95 have?
The swivel office chair has a padded seat and a backrest covered with a breathable mesh fabric. The frame and base are made of metal and plastic. With a maximum load capacity of 110 kg, the office chair is designed to suit a large proportion of users.
In addition, the Home Worx Office 95 includes several ergonomic features so the chair can be adjusted to suit individual needs. These include a height-adjustable backrest and armrests, as well as infinitely adjustable seat height. It is fitted with a synchro mechanism, with spring tension that can be individually adjusted to body weight. The 2D armrests are equipped with soft pad supports, so your forearms can rest comfortably at all times.
What alternatives are there to the test winner?
Given the result and the weaknesses, it is important to also consider possible alternatives. The SPINIO from hjh OFFICE is one such alternative. Like the Home Worx Office 95, it also features a padded seat and a backrest made of breathable mesh fabric, and it is additionally equipped with a synchronous mechanism that can be individually adjusted to the user's body weight. The backrest is ergonomically shaped and can easily be adjusted in height using a ratchet mechanism. In addition, the SPINIO comes with 3D armrests with softpad support, which are adjustable in height, depth and angle. At a current price of 259,90 € (as of 02/25), it is well below the Home Worx Office.

Conclusion
The Home Worx Office 95 swivel office chair is the deserved winner of the Stiftung Warentest office chair test (2/25) and a good choice for anyone looking for a simple yet ergonomic office chair for their home office. With its breathable, height-adjustable backrest and wide range of adjustment options, the Home Worx swivel office chair is a great choice for working from home. However, individual needs and preferences should still be taken into account before buying, as the Höffner Home Worx Office 95 test showed that there are also features that could be seen as weaknesses. A good alternative is the SPINIO from hjh OFFICE, which offers similar features and even comes with 3D armrests for even greater flexibility in adjustment. What’s more, the SPINIO is significantly cheaper than the Home Worx Office 95. In summary: both the Home Worx Office 95 and the SPINIO provide a solid basis for ergonomic sitting. However, when choosing between these two office chairs, personal preferences, budget and specific requirements for the office chair should be taken into account.
