Secure stability in the office and workplace
What does my standing aid have to be able to do?
Modern standing chairs come with many practical features. And that's a good thing, because this is the only way they can be adapted exactly to your needs in the workplace. A good standing aid should be height-adjustable, stable and rollable as needed. But the material, shape and type of seat of your standing aid also play an important role. We have summarized the most important points for you.
Height-adjustable standing aids – an absolute must!
A good standing aid should definitely be able to be adjusted in height. This is the only way you can find the optimal sitting position and take advantage of all the ergonomic and orthopedic advantages of your sitting aid. You can choose whether the cheaper models with preset height levels are sufficient for you or whether you prefer continuous height adjustment. This variant offers you even more comfort because it can be adjusted to your body size with millimeter precision.
- Adjust your standing chair exactly to your height
- Variable so that small but subtle changes in height can provide different relief for your joints and muscles
- Continuous height adjustment is particularly convenient
- Very practical if the standing stool is used by people of different heights
- Tall people in particular should pay attention to the maximum height of the standing aid
Standing aids without backrest
Daily training with a standing chair in the office? The best way to do this is with a standing aid or a standing stool without a backrest. Because on this seat you can work actively and flexibly. And you can easily train your back muscles.
- Comfortable and robust seats without backrest
- Agile and variable work included
- Seating aids without backrests for a strong back
- Stable feet adapt to the floor and even the inclination
- One of our standing stools is even available with a balancing base plate that promotes active sitting and thus helps to strengthen the back muscles
Standing aids with backrests – good support is a win!
These standing chairs are all-rounders. They usually have ergonomically shaped seats made of comfortable hard foam and an integrated backrest. This gives your lower back even more support and helps your body prevent muscular tension.
- With a backrest on your standing aid you can ensure the correct posture
- Pay attention to the height adjustability here too
- The base of your standing aid should be robust and stable
- Can be used universally for all work areas
Fits like a charm - which seat shape is best?
Standing aids are available with round, oval, saddle-shaped or square seats. You will find round and saddle-shaped ones primarily in stools. Classic standing aids tend to have square seats. However, you should definitely make sure that the seat is comfortable for you. And it fits exactly your needs. It should be non-slip, with rounded front edges to allow blood to flow freely in the legs. We also recommend seats that can also be adjusted in angle of inclination. This automatically promotes dynamic sitting behavior and ensures a healthy back.
- Whether round, oval or saddle-shaped – the seat should be comfortable and fit your sitting posture and buttocks.
- Movable and tiltable seats adapt perfectly to the shape of the body
- Rounded front edges support blood circulation in the legs
- The seat should be made of non-slip and durable material
- An adjustable tilt angle of the seat promotes active work
Seating aids in many visual variations
To ensure that your standing aid also matches the rest of your office or business furnishings, we have a number of color variations in our range. Dark standing chairs, for the classic study design. Bright standing stools, for example for light-flooded practice rooms. You can even get our HJH Sitness High with a fresh, blue seat. Because despite all the ergonomics, the appearance of your workplace should not be neglected.

- Bright colors for your friendly office interior
- Chrome look ensures a modern office look
Work stool with robust wheels – quick change of place guaranteed!
Standing aids and work stools with wheels combine functionality with the best seating comfort. We rely on our variable work stools, especially for activities that require a larger working radius. Ideally, these stable sitting aids have a wide base so that you can stand securely both in mobile use and in a fixed place. Pay attention to the type of rollers: You need different rollers for carpets than for smooth wooden or plastic floors.
- Standing aids or work stools with wheels offer a large working radius
- Ideal for pharmacies, doctor's offices but also for office reception
- A wide base ensures stability
- Depending on the surface, you may need special wheels
- On most work stools you can swap the casters for a fixed base if necessary
Hard rolling or soft rolling? Your soil plays the crucial role!
There are basically two types of rollers: soft rollers and hard rollers. The choice of wheels depends on your individual surface. You can find the most common types of flooring and the corresponding wheels here:

Soft wheels for hard floors
Soft rollers, also known as parquet rollers or hard floor rollers, are characterized by their soft rubberized surface. As the name suggests, they are particularly soft and suitable for hard floors. Typical hard floors include wooden parquet, laminate, tiles, vinyl flooring (PVC) and similar rigid surfaces. The soft rubber coating on the wheels prevents scratches on such floors, reduces abrasion and ensures a quieter rolling noise.
Hard wheels for soft surfaces
Hard rolls, on the other hand, also known as carpet floor rolls or soft floor rolls, have a solid surface without rubber coating. They are used on floors that yield and are particularly soft. The classic is of course any form of carpet and other flooring, but linoleum and cork flooring are also included.
The two types of rollers can also be easily distinguished visually: rubberized soft rollers are two-colored. Hard rolls, on the other hand, are plain.
Foldable standing aid – can be used in no time
Particularly smart if the standing aid is not always needed. With a clever folding mechanism, your standing chair can be folded up very quickly and can be stowed away to save space. Also ideal if you have a large meeting coming up at short notice and the standing aids can be quickly pulled out of the cupboard.
- Foldable and perfect for flexible use
- Easy to transport as it folds up small
- Usually equipped with practical transport handles
- Made from robust yet lightweight materials
Standing frames for standing aids – safe standing made easy!
Depending on the intended use, you should also pay attention to the base of your standing chair. Stable but space-saving plate feet can be particularly useful in smaller rooms or behind a reception desk. If you want to work dynamically, then the base frames including the spring legs should be able to be tilted flexibly. Your muscles and back will also appreciate this. However, be sure to pay attention to the maximum load capacity here. For more flexible use and larger office spaces, standing aids with castors are available, which are usually equipped with larger bases.

Health aspects of standing aids
Orthopedists have long recommended avoiding rigid and uniform positions in the workplace. And this is exactly where variable standing aids come into play: be it to relieve the body during standing activities - or to switch between sitting and standing.
Why are standing aids so valuable?
It's about your whole body, but primarily about the leg and hip muscles. It is put under too much stress when simply standing and too little when sitting all the time. The alternation between standing and sitting ensures good balance and therefore a healthier working posture in the long term.
- A good standing aid supports healthy posture
- It ensures a balanced load on your muscles
- Relieves pressure on joints and spine
- Helps us support around 50% of our body weight
- Prevents fatigue and heavy legs
- Allows your neck and shoulders to relax more easily
All of these parameters ensure that we don't tire as quickly with a standing aid and can therefore work more productively and healthily overall.
