Plan visitor chairs professionally - important questions before purchasing
Before we go into detail about the functions of your visitor chair, you should make mental notes about basic questions.
- How many people do you expect to be present at the same time?
For example, if you have a waiting room in your practice or law firm, it could be completely filled with chairs. However, this is not always necessary and the space can perhaps be supplemented more sensibly with other pieces of furniture, be it shelves, monitors, bookshelves or other enrichments, to make the waiting time as pleasant as possible. So estimate the expected number of visitors, add a few extra chairs and use your space wisely. - How much space does each individual visitor chair need? That depends on the location and the space needs of your visitors. If the current hygiene situation allows it, lectures in a large hall can be held directly next to each other. You should definitely ensure there is enough free space for waiting rooms in law firms and especially doctor's offices. A distance of one and a half meters from seat to seat is recommended. Regardless of the location, the space required is a diameter of 65cm.

If the chairs are placed in a waiting room or a similarly busy environment where particular emphasis is placed on hygiene, easy-to-clean and antibacterial covers are recommended. Faux leather is particularly noteworthy because it can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth and also has an antibacterial effect. Plastic covers also fulfill this aspect, with artificial leather prevailing in terms of seating comfort.
Visitor chairs for conference rooms and meetings
If the sitting time is very long, such as at conferences and lectures, you should pay particular attention to good seating comfort. Here, too, artificial leather is at the forefront and breathable fabric covers are also very suitable as a cheaper alternative. If it is foreseeable that the mechanical stress will be high because the chairs are often stacked and put away, then polyester is suitable thanks to its good abrasion resistance.
